Let me introduce myself. My father dreamt of a daughter and wanted to name her Katya. So I was born to please my relatives on June 17th 1969 in Minsk, Byelorussia. I was growing a stubborn child (by my mother's words) and would understand only the language of affection and kind words. When somebody tried to influence my little then but already a personality, I would retreat within myself and sulk. The girl has grown up into a feminine attractive lady of 165 cm of height and 68 kg of weight, with credulous blue eyes and a magnificent head of golden hair. I am 35 now. Gradually my childish stubbornness developed into purposefulness and persistence in achieving goals. The tougher the task is and the more people convince me to quit and live a quiet life without problems, the more interested I am in going to the end.

Well, I finished school, then studied at a technical college, and started work at 20 as a communication technician at an Automatic Telephone Station, where I have been working since then. I like my job for several reasons. It's an interesting occupation for a person with a humanitarian mind. It's comparatively well-paid. It suggests a flexible schedule. The last factor is the most important for me. It gives me free time during the day to enjoy all the pleasures life has to offer us. For example - driving, computer, the Internet, aerobics, swimming, sewing, knitting, and many other things.

I have not been married and have no children but I am very compassionate, maybe more than most people, so I joined the Association for Assistance to Sick and Orphaned Children of Byelorussia. I have learnt Italian and traveled to Italy several times as a guide for a group of deprived children. Now I can speak Italian fluently. I have started learning English but I cannot speak it well yet.

My likes? Books and novels for sure. What a woman can resist reading a fairy tale with a happy end? All romances end by a wedding after which life starts. But it's usually described in detectives, which I also like reading. Besides, I enjoy Remark, Hemingway, and other classical writers. I like philosophical books, about life, theosophy, parapsychology, and different religious theories and views (out of curiosity and personal development). I am an Orthodox Christian but not practicing. I believe that God lives in each of us and he's there for us when we need him, provided we walk by faith.

I like music, mostly modern and disco of 80-s. When cooking or cleaning, I prefer listening to the radio, which offers a nice mix of news, jokes, and music. As for movies, I prefer romantic comedies, action movies, mystics.

I live in a big city so I like visiting various exhibitions occasionally, go to the theater, a concert or a museum. In summer I like going to nature with friends, to spend time by the river, a lake or in the woods. In winter I enjoy sitting in a cafe or a bar with have a cup of coffee or a piece of pizza.

In spite of my active social life, I regard myself a rather calm and well-balanced person. I don't like conflicts and rows. I am rather shy and quiet than bold and pushy. In my inner world the area of feelings is a sacred place without falseness, greediness, frivolity, and indecency. You can expect faithfulness and reliability from me and I would like to get the same from you.

Now a few words about my shortcomings. I like coffee and it's usually accompanied by a light cigarette, several of them a day, but this is a fact. Lying is not for me although I appreciate tactfulness in people, especially in relationships between sexes. Of course, truth is necessary, but diplomacy is more important. I am very sensitive and it's easy to offend me by an improperly chosen word. A part of that little girl still lives in me and dreams to be loved, desired, cared for, spoilt and pampered.

When I meet my soulmate (I have no doubts of that, maybe we are already standing on the threshold of this meeting), he must know that he will find in me the most loving, affectionate, caring friend, lover, a good homemaker, a passionate and interesting woman (I am a Gemini by horoscope so it's hard to feel bored with me). I am a mature personality, striving for personal growth, a cheerful companion to share the joys and sorrows of life with.

Well, this is the end of my story but maybe this is the beginning of ours?
